We have a Poultry shop! When did you last see this kind of shop on your high street? Dales started in 1896 whith Peter Dales grandfather. All chickens are locally sourced and during the season this is the place to go for game birds and venison that have been locally shot, hung and expertly prepared. Plus vegetables with roots nicely caked in Lincolnshire mud.

Places to Visit in Louth

St James Church and Spire – Located on Upgate, Louth. England’s tallest parish church spire, the church is as beautiful on the inside as it is on the outside.  10am to 4pm they serve tea and cakes, take your camera and climb the spire on a clear day you will be rewarded with breath taking views of Louth.

Louth Museum – Located at 4 Broadbank, Louth.

A small but worthwhile and innovative museum, detailing the history of Louth. Within the museum there are four galleries, a classroom/library and a gift shop. The Museum was refitted throughout in traditional style in 2006, celebrated its centenary in 2010, and has won four Renaissance Heritage awards and the prestigious Lincolnshire Heritage Museum of the Year 2012 award.

Louth Museum is run by a voluntary charity – the Louth Naturalists’, Antiquarian and Literary Society, known locally as the ‘Ants and Nats’.

Playhouse Cinema, Louth – Located at Cannon Street, Louth.

A 1920s cinema which although small has a number of screens. It has an intermission so don’t be too surprised when half way through the film the lights come on and the usherette appears from nowhere.

Hubbards Hills – Located beyond Westgate on the outskirts of Louth.  It is a natural glacial valley with the river Ludd running though it. To find it head past St James church and beyond the Wheatsheaf pub down Westgate, When you reach the white picket fence at Westgate Fields follow the path sign posted Hubbards Hills, In the summer or at weekends when it’s sunny the river valley of Hubbards hills is packed. If you have children take a ball and a towel, if you don’t take a rug and a picnic.
